Metal Carports
Strength and durability are two qualities are all shelters need. After all, the structure needs to be able to withstand several pounds of snow accumulating on its roof in the winter, high winds up to 90 miles per hour that can occur at any point during the year, and rain. Why go with a shelter that won't fully protect your vehicle? If sturdiness and stability are what you strive for, metal carports will shield your vehicle from all of these elements.

Metal carports are made from galvanized steel and have a valance style with a 12-inch overhang on each side. The frame is fully constructed from galvanized steel tubing and a canopy, the latter of which is coated with silicon. The natural qualities of the steel allow it to be waterproof and UV resistant, and the open frame of the shelter provides air circulation.
Installation for all metal carports involves assembling the frame and anchoring the shelter. All kits for metal carports include the frame and canopy and a set of anchors. These are ideal for temporary stability, but a carport often becomes a permanent shelter. If the shelter will be kept outside all the time, the legs should be set in concrete before being added to the ground.
In general, metal carports protect a vehicle from UV exposure and water, but some shelters are designed for a car or truck, while others come in shapes for seasonal vehicles. A typical carport will protect at least one car underneath, but seasonal vehicles, such as boats and RVs, need shelter as well. For RVs, in particular, a metal carport is built with a taller and longer frame to protect the vehicle from exposure to the elements. Continuous exposure to UV rays and water damages the surface of any vehicle, and using a carport for storage keeps the vehicle in better shape.
